Choose a private test for personal knowledge or a verified, chain-of-custody test for legal use. Our team will help you understand the difference before you begin.
Anonymous private testing is available for personal knowledge. Names do not need to appear on the report, but the result is informational only and cannot be used for court or another legal purpose.
01
Bring us a sample
You may bring a sample to our office for a private test. Common sample types include:
Standard inner-cheek swab
Used toothbrush
Hair with roots attached
Used cotton swab or Q-tip containing biological material
Garment, underwear, or condom for specialized comparison or infidelity testing
Please call before collecting. Nonstandard samples must be accepted by the laboratory and may provide less DNA than a cheek swab.
02
Pick up a collection kit
Prefer to collect the cheek-swab samples privately? Stop by our office to pick up a kit.
1We show you how to collect and keep each sample separate.
2You collect the samples privately at a time that works for you.
3Bring the collected samples back to our office.
4Pay when you return the samples for testing.
This self-collection option is for private, non-legal testing only.
Court-admissible testing
Legal DNA testing with a verified chain of custody.
A legal DNA test is appropriate when results may be used for child custody, child support, a birth-certificate change, inheritance, immigration, insurance, or another official matter.
All tested parties are identified with valid photo identification when applicable.
Samples are collected by an authorized, neutral collector.
Collection paperwork and specimen handling are documented.
Testing is performed through our AABB-accredited laboratory partner.
